Spiritual Discernment: A Practical Christian Application:
What does it mean when Jesus says "My sheep hear my voice but follow not the voice of strangers?" Is it literal or is there a spiritual context that can also be applied? I believe some Christian's think that to accept God through Christ Jesus means that he only has access to them spiritually. However, to give this passage a closer look we should compare this scripture with other scriptures that may infer additional insight into his statement. This said, the Bible also tells us "beloved believe not every spirit but try the spirits whether they are of God. " meaning Christian's are not only spiritually converted as new creatures reconciled to God, but also spiritually aware, granted the capacity to hear more than just God's spirit.

The Preacher goes into the woman's house, knowing he is permitted because of his moral status in the community but his intentions are far less honorable. He seduces the woman while in her presence. Stating his case for sin in the name of God. She is seduced...finding herself caught up in the throws of his deception. He has lied to his faith, his congregation, his unsuspecting victim...

Ever had to work with somebody that you just couldn't stand? They were rude, mean, obnoxious, insensitive and seemed to always bogart their opinions upon you as if that was the law? Have you ever seen a person make choices that you knew were going to lead them to experiences where nobody really wanted to deal with them? And after all of this observing, you feel lead to be the person to speak to this person.

Winning is more than an opportunistic position that a lie can afford you. The devil used a lie, to influence people, to crucify Jesus. But in the end the lie did not prevail. Jesus did rise from that seemingly treacherous moment. Just remember, God knows how to whoop the devil's but every time. You stay true to God's path.
