Prayer for those in a Challenging Relationship

Dear Lord, I offer you this prayer, to help me with my current relationship situation. Please take away all the pain and hurt in my heart. Fill it with love, joy, peace, forgiveness, patience, and understanding. Bring me and my companion into awareness of each other that we may meet each other with the right attitude and perspectives to nurture a long term relationship. Upon encounter, bless me and this person I am getting to know, so that we may never surrender to whatever discouragements or disappointments that come our way. In spite of our challenges, fill our hearts with love for each other, and may you make each one of us realize each other's worth. May we learn to support each other wisely. I seek for your mercy and blessing that you may allow us to spend the rest of our lives with each other adding to each other this gift of relationship. Lead us not into temptations that would distract us from the discipline of developing together as a couple. Guide us wherever we go and in whatever we do.. Always put us in each other's heart and mind to grow in love and in faith together honoring you. Thank you Lord for hearing my prayer. I love you. Amen.
